How amazing is it to see Nas in a commercial ad campaign?
The Hip Hop star poses with his father, jazz musician Olu Dara, for Gap’s new 2012 holiday campaign. The advertisement is a part of a series of ads with the theme, “Love Comes In Every Shade.” Nas and his father’s segment is titled, “Fatherly Love” and there will be other advertisements starring Michael J. Fox and The Cast of NBC’s The New Normal that will focus on “Puppy Love”, “Modern Love” and “Best Friend Love.”
His former manager Steve Stoute, author of The Tanning Of America, definitely approves this message.

Stacey Dash wants her voice to be heard! And so she’s put her thoughts on the Presidential Election in a 1,344 word essay.
TMZ received the 3 page document from Stacey today, and in it she revealed her overall thoughts on the election, the criticism she received for voting for Romney and why President Obama did not receive her support this time around. She said:
I voted for Obama in 2008. Yes, I was part of the overwhelming majority that swept President Obama into his historic election! I hadn’t known anything about him until he earned the Democratic nomination. He’s brilliant, understated, ethical, a great husband and father. President Obama will always be remembered as one of the greatest leaders this United States of America has ever known.
At the end of the day we are in this together. This is Our American Family. I do not want to be a part of the hateful voices insulting each other. I want to be a part of the voices that helps shape the future. Don’t you? Perhaps I publically endorsed Romney from a slightly naive place, thinking that I could speak my voice without being criticized in such racially charged and hateful tones.

It’s just 12 more days before Mary Jane Riri drops her new LP, Unapologetic and already her album snippets have made their way online. Judging from the first listen, she successfully infuses Hip Hop, Pop and Dance on the album and it still manages to sound cohesive.
Out of 14 tracks, there are five features that include Eminem, Future, Mikky Ekko, David Guetta and (surprise! surprise!) Chris Brown. The melody and beat on the Chris Brown track actually sound like a 90′s throwback with Rihanna singing, “Ain’t nobody’s business, just mine and my baby!“ I can imagine they jumped in the studio and made this track around the time that Rihanna was spotted in various New York City nightspots cuddled up with Chris.
The album starts off with “Fresh Off The Runway” which has a beat similar to Nicki Minaj’s “HOV Lane”. On the track, Rihanna lets out her inner ratchet while singing lyrics like, “I bet you n-ggas gonna be like ‘B-tch this my f-cking song‘ and ‘Now I’m standing in the bank line throwing up my gang signs.“ Another Hip Hop highlight and a guaranteed smash in the clubs will be the song, “Pour it up” which has a beat similar to Juicy J’s “Bands a Make Her Dance.” On the track, Rihanna sings: “Valet cost a hundred bills, (still got more money),golds all up in my grill (still got more money), who cares how you haters feel (still got more money), call Jay up and close a deal ( still got more money) [...] All I see is signs, all I see is dollar signs. Money on my mind.” Folks are gonna be in the club with their drinks up, losing their mind to this one. Guaranteed.
New Music: Mariah Carey – Bring It On Home (President Obama Tribute)
Mariah Carey blesses us with the vocals we’ve all fell in love with throughout the span of her career in a new tribute to President Obama. The song, titled “Bring It On Home,” was written earlier this year and first performed by Mariah in June at a fundraiser event in New York . Back then, she tweeted that she had just finished performing the track, which she wrote especially for the event, and that she wished she could put it out.
After it was announced that President Obama was re-elected into office last night, Jermaine Dupri posted the song on Global 14 and it began spreading like wildfire. Mariah sounds amazing on the song while backed by a choir as she sings:

Halle Berry Rocks An Afro For Interview Magazine
Although Halle B says that she is at her best when she’s rocking short hair, she is slaying in her recent spread in Russia’s Interview Magazine. For the 70′s inspired photo shoot, she dons retro shades and platform heels while looking fierce in a wild, unkempt fro.
It seems as though Interview magazine just keeps it coming with these shoots that feature celebs outside of their normal element. Just last month, they featured Brad Pitt in a photospread wearing Bob Marley inspired dreadlocks.
President Obama Re-Elected, Celebs React
Four more years!
Even though it was a very tense night while watching the votes come in, President Barack Obama was re-elected for a second term last night. It all came down to that swing state of Ohio, but eventually President Obama claimed victory with 303 electoral votes, while Mitt Romney had just 206. The election was also swayed this time around by the Latino vote (the fastest growing minority group in America) with President Obama snagging 72 percent of their support nationwide. Women were also concerned about healthcare and their reproductive rights which helped the President snag 53 percent of their vote.
Last night, supporters grooved to music by Al Green, Frankie Beverly & Maze, and even some Beyonce while waving flags in excitement before the president came out to Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed Delivered.” He was accompanied by Michelle Obama and his daughters Sasha and Malia who he thanked during his victory speech:
I wouldn’t be the man I am today without the woman who agreed to marry me 20 years ago. Let me say this publicly. Michelle, I have never loved you more. I have never been prouder to watch the rest of America fall in love with you, too, as our nation’s first lady.
Sasha and Malia — before our very eyes, you’re growing up to become two strong, smart, beautiful young women, just like your mom. And I am so proud of you guys. But I will say that for now, one dog’s probably enough. [laughter]

The man behind an anti-Muslim film that led to violence in the Middle East has been sentenced to one year in prison.
Mark Basseley Youssef, 55, was sentenced on Wednesday for violating probation stemming from a 2010 bank fraud conviction.
US District Court Judge Christina Snyder handed down the sentence after Youssef admitted four of eight alleged violations including obtaining a fraudulent California driver’s licence.
Youssef served most of a 21-month prison term in the bank fraud case. Federal authorities wanted Youssef to serve two years for the violations.
After he was released from prison, Youssef was barred from using computers or the Internet for five years without approval from his probation officer.
None of the violations had to do with the content of “Innocence of Muslims,” a film that depicts Mohammad as a religious fraud, pedophile and a womaniser.
The movie sparked violence in Libya and other parts of the Middle East, killing dozens. Enraged Muslims had demanded severe punishment for him, with a Pakistani cabinet minister even offering $100,000 to anyone who kills him.
Federal authorities have said they believe Youssef is responsible for the film, but they have not said whether he was the person who posted it online.
He also was not supposed to use any name other than his true legal name without the prior written approval of his probation officer.
At least three names have been associated with Youssef since the film trailer surfaced – Sam Bacile, Nakoula Basseley Nakoula and Youssef. Bacile was the name attached to the YouTube account that posted the video.
Court documents show Youssef legally changed his name from Nakoula in 2002, though when he was tried, he identified himself as Nakoula. He wanted the name change because he believed Nakoula sounded like a girl’s name, according to court documents.
